SRI Coaching Requirements

Ocean State Soccer (OSS) plays Competitive Soccer under the Policies and Procedures of Soccer Rhode Island (SRI).  In regards to Coaching Competitive teams, there are a minimum SRI licensing/certificate requirements that must be met at each level of Competitive play in order to be considered for a Head Coaching position.  These requirements are outlined below.

SRI offers coaching courses that enable the attainment of the various licenses.  The courses are offered annually by SRI at various locations around the State.  You can check the SRI web site (www.soccer-ri.com) periodically for the specific schedule of the classes.  Once at SRI site, select
Resources page and then the Coaches page.

If you are interested in becoming a Head Coach, it is important that you review these requirements.  While the SRI requirements apply specifically to the Competitive division, they are very educational and strongly recommended for those who coach in the Recreation division as well.

If you have any questions on these requirements, please contact the OSS Director of Coaching or the OSS VP of Competitive for further information.
